Nora Berman: Creatrix

Babst Gallery is pleased to present Creatrix, a solo exhibition of oil paintings, works on paper, and ceramics by Nora Berman. Presented alongside these works are video sculptures informed by the artist’s live streaming practice. Regularly since 2021, Berman broadcasts immersive, experimental livestreams from her studio, where she paints, performs, and co-exists with her viewers in a bizarre environment shaped by her own visual art.

Nora Berman (b. 1990)  received a BFA from UCLA in 2013 and a MFA from Kunst Institute Basel in 2018. Her work has been shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin; Kunstmuseum St. Gallen; Kunsthaus Basel; Marta Herford Museum, Herford, Germany; dèpendance, Brussels;  Isabella Bortolozzi, Berlin; High Art, Paris; Stars Gallery, Los Angeles; Mickey Schubert, Berlin; Weiss Falk, Basel; Longtang, Zürich, amongst others. Berman lives and works in Los Angeles.
